Drawing from her rich Polynesian and Amazigh heritage, Mel'Keta brings a unique cultural perspective to her artistry as a professional belly dancer, instructor, and choreographer. Her journey through dance began with the rhythms of the South Pacific Islands, creating a natural bridge to her current mastery of both Middle Eastern dance and Tahitian movement traditions.

A lifelong student of dance, Mel'Keta's foundation includes extensive training in ballet, modern, jazz, and ballroom. In 2006, she deepened her commitment to Middle Eastern dance (Raqs Sharqi) through intensive study with renowned instructors Zarouhi Otchy and Tashira Awadiya. Her dedication to the art form has led her to train with internationally acclaimed artists, including Elena Lentini and Samara—protégés of the legendary Ibrahim Farrah—as well as the celebrated Ansuya.

From her origins in New Jersey to her current home in Tennessee, Mel'Keta has graced stages throughout the Northeast, Midwest, and internationally. As both an entrepreneur and artist, she combines her dual degrees in Accounting with her passion for dance and costume design, bringing meticulous attention to detail to every aspect of her craft.

Whether performing or teaching, Mel'Keta creates an environment of joy and discovery. She lives by the words of dance pioneer Ted Shawn: "Dance is the only art wherein we ourselves are the stuff it's made of." This philosophy infuses her teaching style, performances, and choreography, creating transformative experiences that resonate deeply with both students and audiences alike.
